This is a level I designed and built using Unreal Engine 4 as a test for a Level Artist position for a game studio.
I had to use a simple pack of assets they gave me as the base to start designing the level and the story, and here is the result.
I generated a terrain simulating a quarry, and created a PBR material using Substance Designer. Then I used the assets to build the level with two different areas:
- Warehouse area: start point of the level, first combat encounter and mission to complete before being able to go down to the quarry.
- Quarry area: it has 3 depth levels, being the deepest one the exit point of the level. Enemies are distributed along the way down, and a bigger combat will happen at the end.
